Ellen Contard brings a warm, open manner and a sense of humor that sets clients and students at ease. Shortly after becoming a mother in 2004, she began to work with birthing families. In 2012, she expanded beyond those first tender years into Parent Effectiveness Training and Teacher Effectiveness training. She sees strong similarities between her original career as a systems engineer and the much more complex job of parenting children!
Strengthening connections is at the heart of every service Ellen provides. She finds it most rewarding when her students and clients carry forward the knowledge and tools she has passed on to them, and continue to build strong, growing families.
Ellen currently resides in Bennett, CO with her husband Chris and their five children... along with a couple of goats and a flock of chickens.
An experienced mom of three, Melissa loves and understands the challenges of parenting as well as the monumental impact of the role. She is keenly aware of how important humor, empathy, respect, and trust are for this job!
She began her professional life as a software engineer, yet found herself working with birthing families after she had her first child in 2002. As important pregnancy and birth are to getting family bonds off to a strong start, she believes that the communication skill taught in Parent Effectiveness Training continue to grow those loving connections. She became a P.E.T. instructor in 2012 and loves watching students practice and master these skills and return to class with stories of growth, hope, and inspiration.
She currently lives in Aurora, CO with her sweet husband, Brian, and their three unique and amazing sons.
